Op-ed: Currupt political parties

By Mike Petersen of Mason City –

Caucus night 2012, Mitt Romney wins Iowa in one of the closest elections in history-8 votes! He was the establishments candidate. They got their guy in even though he was trailing in polls weeks earlier and completely missing in the Iowa straw poll. It doesn’t matter, with the slanted media’s help they were able to convince enough Iowa voters not to go with their gut instinct but to vote for the only real candidate that has a chance.

January 19th, as I’m getting ready for work I hear on the radio results for the Iowa caucus have been changed, now they are saying Rick Santorum won by 34 votes, but they still aren’t declaring it a Santorum victory, now it is being called a split decision. What?! So if Mitt Romney wins by 8 it is a Romney victory, but Santorum by 34 and it’s split? If it is too close to call a victory now, how could they be so quick to declare Romney the victor, and why did it take them 15 days to straighten it out? I think we know the reason, the establishment wants Romney as the republican candidate and they are willing to play whatever games it takes to fool week minded people into following like sheep and supporting him.

Would have it made a difference? Would have an Iowa loss showed some vulnerability in Romney and swung some votes Santorum’s way in New Hampshire. Would have a win for an underdog like Santorum kept the race more open and given a candidate like Gingrich or Paul some hope and momentum heading into New Hampshire. We can guess but we will never know. What we do know is we have a republican establishment trying to force in their candidate and take away your vote. If you simply vote the way they lead and tell you it is really not a vote.

Wake up people! A candidate(Romney) will probably get the republican nomination even though he only has about 30% of the voters supporting him. The problem is you have the majority 70% against Romney split between so many other candidates. So you will have a third of the people who the establishment can brainwash give the power to the establishment so they can put in a candidate who can funnel more money to big banks and corporations who can in return funnel donations back to the republican party. Who gets this money, you guessed it those same leaders in the republican party-the establishment! A beautiful system isn’t it? At this point I think we would almost be better off if the republican party didn’t exist and we would all have to become democrats. Before you go accusing me of becoming a liberal, think about it a little bit. Think of how much better the democrat party would be with some conservative ideals being thrown in. There are 710,000 registered democrats in the state. If you can control a party with 30% of the vote as shown above we would only need 213000 like minded republicans to switch affiliation and we would have a better chance at controlling who gets elected in the democrat party than we would in our own. That is how screwed up the system is, but only you can make a difference. Become an independent, think with your mind and guts not how the media tells you to vote for the only candidates who have a chance, and finally hit them, (both parties), where it hurts-the pocket book. Give no donations, time or money, to any candidate until the corruption stops!
