NIACC volleyball adds North Dakota recruit

CAVALIER, N.D. – NIACC volleyball has added middle hitter Lindsey Samson from Cavalier, North Dakota to the roster for next season

“Volleyball is one of the most important aspects of my life,” said Samson after commiting to the Trojans. “To say that I have an opportunity to continue my volleyball career and begin my education at NIACC is definitely one of my biggest and proudest accomplishments.”

Samson started for Cavalier High School the past three years, earned All-Conference and All-District honors in 2011, and led the Tornadoes in kills and passing percentage. In 2010 she led Cavalier in blocks.

Samson has also made the academic honor roll the past two years, earned letters in basketball and track, and received musical honors in band.

“We are very excited that Lindsey has decided to make NIACC her home next year,” NIACC volleyball coach Chris Brandt said. “She has such a passion about the game, a wonderful work ethic, and is just a wonderful person. We expect big things from her next season.”

According to Cavalier High School coach Kari Helgoe, Samson’s play and effort will be exciting for fans at NIACC to watch when she puts on a Trojan uniform in the fall.

“Lindsey is versatile player that brings a contagious energy to the floor that helps elevate players around her,” Coach Helgoe said. “She brings a certain spirit to the game that makes her a joy to watch play.”
