AMES, Iowa – Iowa State head men’s basketball coach Fred Hoiberg confirmed today that sophomore guard Bubu Palo will be out 6-8 weeks with a fractured wrist.
Palo injured his wrist in the Mississippi Valley State game and played in the Texas game four days later with his wrist taped for support. MRI results today confirmed a slight crack in his right shooting hand.
“It’s a very tough blow for us,” Hoiberg said. “Bubu is our rock when things aren’t going well. When you put him in the game things calm down and defensively, he’s always in the right spot. That was a tough thing to wake up to this morning.”
Palo, a native of Ames, Iowa, was recently put on scholarship for the second semester. The former walk-on has played in all 14 games this season, averaging 4.7 points and 2.1 assists in 15.6 minutes per game.
