Branstad, Reynolds to take Condition of the State address to Iowa communities

(DES MOINES) –  Gov. Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds today announced that they will be embarking on a tour across Iowa to share the governor’s Condition of the State address with Iowans in their local communities. The tour is set to begin Wednesday, January 11, 2012, the day after the speech is delivered to a joint session of the Legislature.

“For years the governor has delivered the Condition of the State address to the Legislature in Des Moines,” said Branstad. “This year, Lieutenant Governor Reynolds and I will be traveling the state to expand our commitment to Iowans and share our vision for economic health and world-class education.”

“As the 2012 legislative session begins, Governor Branstad and I know that Iowans deserve common sense, long-term solutions that reflect the character and ideals of Iowa’s hard-working taxpayers,” said Reynolds. “We look forward to bringing the Condition of the State address to the people of Iowa over the next couple of weeks.”

The tour begins in Ottumwa, and will continue to Sioux City and Cedar Rapids in the first week. More stops will be released at a later date.
