A man was shot and killed Saturday morning in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, police said.
The assailant walked up to and confronted the victim outside on the 500 block of S. Cicero Ave. about 10:30 a.m. and shot him to death, police said.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the 27-year-old man as Patrick Carter of the 1500 block of South Keeler Avenue.
The shooter ran away and entered an awaiting vehicle, which fled, police said.
The victim was in his mid to late 20s, according to police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office was not notified.
Authorities are reviewing video surveillance of the shooting.
No one is in custody.
