Mason City man indicted on federal drug and weapon charges

One of the of two men arrested on drug delivery charges last week is now facing numerous federal charges.

Shortly before noon on Sunday law enforcement served Louie Angel Flores Jr with a federal warrant placing a US Marshal hold on him.

The federal charges from US Federal Court Case CR11-3056 include:

– Conspiracy to distribute meth by a felon

– Distribution of meth by a felon within 1000 feet of a park

– Possession with Intent to Distribute Meth by a Felon

– Possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime

Louie Flores has been held in Cerro Gordo County jail on $60,000 bond since law enforcement arrest him following a traffic stop in on 7 St SE, Mason City on Friday December 9th. At that time Flores was charged on state felony charges of possession with intent to deliver meth, failure to affix drug tax stamp, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Clear Lake resident Shawn Benedict Zimmerman, who was in the vehicle with Flores, was also charged with felony possession with intent to deliver marijuana in the incident. Zimmerman had been released from jail with stipulations the following morning. It is unclear at this time rather Zimmerman will face federal charges in the incident.

The federal system has mandatory sentencing and no parole if a defendant is convicted.

Court records show Flores has been arrested at least twice for possession with intent to deliver meth and convicted in at least one of those cases.

What did this guy do with all the $$$$$ that his father left him?? What, just a minute, he did what! never mind, someone just told me what he did with it. Too bad that he couldn’t of spent it on (his) family…

Zimmerman was released????? HAsn’t this guy had a bunch of problems with drugs & the law??? Sounds like he may be a talker.

Louie,What family? He lives with a person that live off the state we pay the bills she also was convicted of drugs.Once a drug dealer always a drug dealer three strikes and your out. Send him to the laundary.

“I think everyone names mistakes no need in bad mouthing anyone when u have no idea what they have been through in there life to get to this low of a point”

Jeez! You’re that wasted at 9:30 in the morning?!

Either enter rehab soon, or the very least get a 4th grader to proof-read your comments before you post!

These guys just look scary. Maybe they are great guys or something like some of you are saying but I’m just glad the mcpd is keeping the streets clean.

Anybody else notice James starts defending a meth dealer at 3:12am?

So James how does one like yourself get charged with LASCIVIOUS ACTS W/CHILD – FONDLE OR TOUCH? Let me guess the cops just singled you out?

James for being such a smart guy looks like he wasted himself also by the looks of Iowa Courts online it appears as those he’s a felon and likes to burglarize things and trespass, along with having drug paraphenalia, and a lacivious acts with a child (which was dismissed) and James if you’re so educated and have all these great qualities why not go out and get a good job…why resort to breaking into other people’s things and carrying drug paraphenalia? Fact is criminals are costing us A LOT of money as taxpayers because they don’t use morality and choose to break the legality of rules that have been put in place it’s simple use morals and I would say the majority of the time you don’t have to worry about the legal part… most laws are MORALLY RIGHT that’s why legally when you break them you’re in the WRONG!!

Mr. Pieschke, for a fellow that is so smart, you are ignorant. Louie is not a good person at hall. He brings harm to other people by providing drugs.

We waist a lot of money due to the activities of knuckledraggers like Flores.

You need to get your moral compass fixed!

Kevin Hardy hooked him up with a job after his release last time. I was told that I almost lost my job because of it, they apparently didn’t think that Louie and I would get along.
With regards to your suggestion that being a drug dealer somehow makes someone a bad guy I would like to remind everybody that morality and legality are not the same thing and as such negates such an assumption.
If the law were the basis of morality and always right the vast majority of us would still own slaves.
As for your other question- I am far, far from stupid. I graduated high school two years early at the age of 16 with Honors and Special Distinction. I was Captain of the fencing team while I attended private school as well as Captain of the debate team.
You might not agree with my point of view and my point of view may very well be wrong. I may decide that upon further consideration but at the moment this happens to be what it is.
Consider that before dismissing my opinions immediately after reading them.
Before holding them up for ridicule consider that someone who is far from stupid came to that conclusion and ask yourself if there might be a reason for it.

After pondering the idea for a time and my explanations for it you may even possibly change your own mind.

Russ Hardy probably ly could have hooked him up with a job. But I have a feeling this guy didn’t really want to work and just make lots of fast cash. Good guy my butt. He’s a drug dealer, that does not equal a good guy. Now how is he going to support his family? He’s only going to make about a dollar an hour in the prison laundry. Good guy? Damn James, are you stupid? I bet you’re just trying to provide for your family, too. What laws are you going to break?

good person? yea ok, if he is such a good person, i suppose those were because he is such an out standing person
i will agree its hard to find a job with a record, how ever it must also be said good people don’t the 2nd and 3rd charge.
as for supporting his family. there are many many things he could have done such as move grass, shovel snow, wash dishes, there employers who hire people with a record or with out a background done.
it was he that choose to do what he did. and now the taxpayers get to support his ass because was trying to feed his family.
good guy, you just keep telling yourself that.

Louie is a good person who was doing the only thing he could to support his family and himself. The public seems to have no idea how difficult it is to find employment when you already have a criminal record.
