MASON CITY – Mason City Pastor Shane Philpott has written extensively about his ordeal with the Mason City Police Department at a website called FindJodi.com. The website is dedicated to finding the truth behind the disappearance of Jodi Huisentruit.

In a series of posts, Philpott writes about the MCPD, elected and un-elected Mason City officials, the Iowa DCI, the Globe Gazette, NorthIowaToday.com, the FBI, and a former MCPD police Chief.
Philpott is a pastor at Christian Fellowship Church in Mason City.
Philpott, when contacted by NorthIowaToday.com, had nothing further to add at this time.

At the suggestion of the Iowa Department of Justice and the Ombudsman’s Department, I have brought this information to the attention of Mayor Bookmeyer as well as City Adminisrator Brent Trout, and neither of them will respond to my complaints. I have also supplied this information to the Globe Gazette and KIMT, and neither of them will report on the matter.”
– “I have taken information to the Globe Gazette newspaper here, and I received an email from John Skipper who spoke with the general editor Jane Reynolds, and he stated in his email they didn’t want to get in the middle of it.”

It was also claimed on the Find Jodi that the website had given their blessing to post the information this article highlights.

I concur with another poster here, if you have relevant information then why withhold it. Also if it is credible then all other law enforcement/criminal investigation agencies must be “involved” in the “alluded” to “cover-up”.

I know Shane personally, am not connected in any way to church…know his mother…and have found him to be a well-grounded person who has strong feelings about his faith and “flock”. That said, I have had many, many dealings with the MCPD, city hall and the Globe. I’ve found each to be lacking. For instance, the Chief, during an investigation from our business, asked, “What do you want us to do, talk with everyone who was in your business.” We were closed at the time and only eight people had been in the building with our realtor. City Hall has been a pain in the butt, i.e. damage claims were rejected by its insurance co., always based on what city workers had to say. i.e. in one case we filed a claim for sidewalk damage and the insurance co. came back with “the city does not own the sidewalk, therefore your claims will not be honored.” THINK ABOUT THAT ONE. (The damage was caused by its equipment removing the snow it stacks up on the sidewalk.)
Then there’s the Globe…the best five minute read in MC. Having been a newspaper reporter, editor, publisher for more than 30 years, I certainly know what a newspaper should look likes. This one (the Globe) shows none of the charateristics of what the man(or woman) on the street would consider an informative publication whose first role in the community is to inform.
The damage to the sidewalk claim that you tried to present may be frustrating to you but it is the same for every Mason City citizen. It may have been their property that damaged it through snow removal but it is your sidewalk and your responsibility. Mailboxes get knocked over all the time and it is the citizens responsibility to fix it. It happened to us. We didn’t complain. Just fixed it. We figure mistakes happen. People are human. It beats having no snowplow at all. If we didn’t have that service where would we be? Also, if the city paid for every sidewalk that was “supposedly” ruined by the snowplow every citizen in Mason City would have a new sidewalk!!

Don’t drink the koolaid. Shane “Fill-My-Pockets” and his crack job sister in law are just plaine crazy. Wow.
This could very well be the case. The man pines for attention. Is this the mark of a man of god?
If the Bobby Crawford beating death refered to is an elderly man named Robert Crawford, an arrest was made and a woman named Bennie Harrington was found guilty and is serving life in prison for that crime.
Shane is an attention addict. To use a website that is supposedly about Jodi, to basically just push a vendetta against the city and police department is so sad,…esp. for Jodi. Shane wants, needs, and lives off….attention.
The disappearance of Jodi Huisentruit and the beating death of Bobbi Crawford, both unsolved, continue to nag at the sense of security of all of us. If there is any evidence that is being with-held, that is a real shame. If the police are using connections and power to harrass a citizen who is vocal or if they are not being forthcoming in order to protect members from disciplinary action, that too is a shame.
It is hard not to want a perfect world where crimes are solved and guilty pay.

There’s a reason that some people in this community refer to Philpott as Crackpot. I really don’t know or care about his allegations and the secrets he knows. And I’m sure he’s got plenty of secrets that have nothing to do with Jodi.
Looking at him from a distance, and hearing about his “church” and his tithes, I am not impressed. There’s something not right that people in his congregation get praised in church in front of their other parishoners about how much they give.

As so far, the information this boy has turned over two agencies have said nothing there. What does he want, a Grand Jury investigation? FBI? NSA? Mossad?
No, all he does is go before the media, and says I’ve got a secret. How are we supposed to take that seriously anymore?
It says he gave sensitive material to City Leaders and they leaked it. What was it? With all the publicity that he’s gave himself, has he actually shown any proof of anything. This has gone on for a long time, it was said that the truth would come out about Jodi’s murder. When? Shame on the Globe for saying they didn’t want to get in the middle. Media telling the story, is not a way of getting in the middle, it is a way to let the public know what’s going on and their job is to report it. Both sides should know that, and not blame the media for getting in the middle. He said he has nothing to say now? He said he’s went here and there, and talked to all those people and nobody did anything about it. He’s upset about it, but when asked, he says he has nothing to say? Shane show us some proof, tell us something, let the truth be known if you know something.
