Why are our elected and appointed officials placing time limits on citizen inputs or disallowing input at one meeting if you spoke at the previous. There is always new information or a new thought. I would think the council and the zba would be mandated to accept all public input. An issue for occupy Mason City?

There are 25k residents in MC. Most boards and commissions are volunteer, do we really want to give people no limits to drag out meetings?? Give me a break. Have the people that talk have some kind of mental illness, are not very bright and reflect poorly upon the city’s citizenry. If you can’t say what you have to say in under two minutes, you are probably overdoing it.
free society is a three-legged stool: government, the people, business. Any one of those legs gets chopped down, and the stool tips over. In fascism, the government and business carry axes.

Everyone knows the reason is Max Weaver. He will grandstand before the city council indefinitely, and say nothing unless someone shuts him up.
For those of you who haven’t figured it out here yet OBSERVER works for CES/DNR. Don’t buy her/his crap for a minute. I know your smarter than that anyway but just mentioning it. Stay together organize and fight for whats right!!!!
Surprise, I have no connection with either party in this. In fact, I am not connected with any one, pro or con. I am just relating what I observe.
I have yet to see any new ideas regarding the CES project that would sway me one way or the other. I have seen some mischaracterizations, half-truths, and innuendo.
We have also seen our City Administrator place the gag on one of his employees, to which, we have not seen any proper explanation (he does have the right however to assign employees as he sees fit).
My desire is for CES to present to the boards involved and the public, discrete plans for this plant, and description of the technologies used. It would clear up a lot of misconceptions about it.
They will require it sooner or later when they appear before the DNR for siting.
Maybe folks should make signs and stand infront of City Hall and the Park Inn, in protest of this City trying to shut the majority up!!!! Get orginized and STANDUP to these BULLIES and DON”T BE BULLIED!!!!!
Most poeple have no idea what is going on….which is why this is happening…Media coverage has been “A non issue”…This behavior needs to stop…but what can we do? Occupy seems more sain than it did before
They don’t want the truth. The appointed and elected people have no regard for the working class. They are EVIL and CROOKED!!
They want to control the result and if citizens get to input they might apply enough pressure to stop them. This type of stuff should be voted on by the people as well as anything else that could effect our health or increase taxes. A vote would stop the crap and they would go waway.
Why? Because they wan’t control so they get the outcome they wan’t, not necessarily the one the citizens wan’t.
Have to beleive there is some money involved in this somewhere. If the city council push’s this through, there needs to be an investigation started to find out why they are pusing this down our throats. This council is not “by the people, for the people” thats for sure.
