Mason City man heading to prison after 12th public intoxication

On Wednesday, November 16th, Michael Cabrera Jr., age 33 of Mason City had a two year suspended prison sentence imposed after being found guilty less than a month into probation.

Cabrera had received a two year suspended prison sentence and one year probation on September 21st after a negotiated voluntary guilty plea in his eleventh public intoxication charge since 2000. Just twenty days later Clear Lake police arrested him on a twelfth charge of public intoxication. The new charge lead to the Iowa Department of Corrections to apply for the court to revoke his probation.

On Wednesday Cabrera entered a negotiated voluntary guilty plea to the probation violation in exchange Cerro Gordo County District Court Judge Gerald McGee dismissed the twelfth public intoxication charge in addition to an assault causing bodily injury and concealing a knife used in a crime charges related to a Mason City incident in August.

Judge Gerald McGee then imposed two year sentence on Cabrera from his eleventh public intoxication offence that had been suspended by Judge Carlynn Grupp.

Iowa Court records show Cabrera has a lengthy criminal history including vehicle theft twice, burglary, eluding the police, domestic assault causing injury, two OWI’s, two possession of marijuana offenses, thefts, and assault to name a few.

    What about Lumley,sricker,anderson,torres and the others that have multiple intox charges? Not only these charges they don’t fricken work or spend time in prairie ridge or 5 east. Fricken losers.
