Search Warrant Leads to Felony Meth Arrest for Mason City Man

On the afternoon of Friday, September 23rd, members of the Mason City Police and Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department conducted a search of a residence at 623 South Carolina Avenue in Mason City.

As a result of a substantial amount of Methamphetamine being found during the search, Christopher Douglas, age 32, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Douglas was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail following the search and remains there on a $100,000 dollar cash or surety bond pending further court proceedings.

Possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver in the amount Douglas is accused of having is a class B felony and carries up to a 25 year prison sentence and a minimum $5000 dollar fine or up to $100,000 fine. Probation is not an option for methamphetamine offenses, a prison sentence is mandatory.
