Billy Compton Jr., age 21, of Mason City was sentenced September 21st in Cerro Gordo County District Court by Judge Carlynn Grupp to serve up to two years in prison following a 2nd conviction for violating probation.
Compton originally received a deferred judgment receiving two years probation in August 2010 for 3rd degree theft $500 to $1000.
Court records show the deferred judgment was revoked following a probation violation in March of 2011. As part of the probation violation Compton was sentenced to 180 days at Beje Clark, a local residential treatment facility, and a two year suspended sentence.
On August 25th a Cerro Gordo County deputy arrested Compton on a warrant for violating probation a second time. He has remained in the Cerro Gordo County Jail since that day awaiting further court proceedings that took place last week, resulting in the two year suspened prison sentence being imposed.
Billy Compton Jr. is currently listed by the sheriff’s department as waiting transport to prison.
