A “For Seniors Only” program will be held on Wednesday, September 21 from 10 a.m. ñ Noon at the Lime Creek Nature Center.
Guest speaker Ty Smedes will present “The Return of Iowa’s Bald Eagles,” a stunning slide show based on his new book of the same title. An author/photographer from Urbandale, Smedes spent 21 mornings and 84 hours photographing at a nest to get the images for his book, a diary of writings and incredible photographs of eagles soaring, diving, catching, and eating fish.
The program will be packed with plenty of amazing images of bald eagles at rest, at the nest, feeding young, catching fish, and going about their everyday lives, with many stories recounting unusual and sometimes unimaginable behavior.
The program will be followed by a catered lunch and social time. Cost is $5.00 for nature center members and $7.00 for nonmembers. Please call 423-5309 to register.
