MASON CITY – A Mason City school teacher was serving a sentence for operating while intoxicated Monday evening. Janell Amy Drumheller, 38, was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail 6:29 p.m. (UPDATED) to serve jail time for a February 5th, 2011 arrest for OWI. Drumheller pled guilty in court on 8/12/2011; her fine was $1850.00, surcharge $647.50 and court costs $110.00.
Drumheller works at the Mason City Alternative School as an art teacher.
Drumheller, according to Iowa Courts Online, has already been arrested once in the past for OWI. She was arrested on January 5, 2008 and plead guilty on March 14, 2008. The $1250.00 fine was reduced to $625.00. No jail time was added to the sentence.
The Mason City Alternative High School, represented by Drumheller and student Allison Pope, received a Shining Star Team recognition for their involvement with service projects through the City Volunteer Program.
Drumheller’s last known address was 20 S. Ohio Ave. in Mason City. Records show that house is owned by Mason City City Attorney Tom Meyer.
