Some had camera’s and some had camcorder’s. One man said, “This is history making time. I just live south of here, so I grew up with this McDonald’s.” He was from Sheffield.

Another man, leaning on the west wall of The Dollar General Store, just watched. “I don’t think the new one’s going to have a playground, but I hear that it would have two drive-up windows. The dining area will be bigger, but I heard that it’s mostly going to be like this one.”
People that grew up with the McDonald’s can probably remember back when they had to change how many burgers had been sold on the big M, McDonald’s sign. When it was still be kept track of. Remembering back to when the first million was sold, then when it got to 99 million and stayed there for quite awhile. As everyone can see, and has seen many times by driving by it, now it’s Billions and Billions.
Well, Good-bye to a Mason City Icon, we’ll be waiting and welcoming in the new one with open arms and empty stomaches.
