The Worth County Demo started with Compact Cars. There were ten cars in this heat and the winner was #921, Harry Wallem. The rest, in order, were #40 Brady Flatness, #01 Josh Pfennig, #185 Shawn Ellingson, #7 Daryn Schmit, #69K Ryan Schulz, #9A Mike Hage, #5.9 Ethan Severtson, #G.2 Cody Gaines and #53 Bill Winfield.

The Truck Heat only had four going at it, but it was exciting to watch. Those trucks just didn’t want to give up and looked mean. But, coming in for first place was #3 Dustin Olson. #140 Mike Boettcher came in second, and Jon Borcherding and Colby Beck came in third and fourth.

During the intermission, Auctioneer Dan Low, auctioned off a trailer full of wood carvings. Each carving brought in good money for the fair, with an average winning bid of around $250.

After the intermission came the ProMod Heat. Winner was #76SS Troy Fleener. The rest in order were Pete Czaplewski, #612 Greg Harms, #17X Josh Eischens, #66 Scott Serfling, and #3JC Mike Chisholm.

With Safety always coming first in an event like this, there was a short delay because the emergency units were called out and the event will not proceed without them. During this time, that lasted approximately 30-45 minutes, there wasn’t seen getting angry, checking out their watch, talking on their cell phone or texting. They were talking, communicating and socializing. Nielson and The Master’s Crew threw frisbe’s into the crowd. It didn’t take long before the children had Paul surrounded, all wanting one. Paul just kept getting more and more. A short time later he brought out water bottles that he was giving away. Then he had the idea of the kids racing for prize. Many, many children of all ages came down from the stands to participate in these races. Announcer, Dan Low, said at this point “Look at this, Kids having fun at the Fair.” The kids were laughing, run and just having a ball. The parents were enjoying watching the activities.

The Emergency Unit returns and the Demo went on.

For the Feature Heat there were seven cars. Seven cars with men in them that wanted to win and made their cars roar to let the crowd know they wanted to win. Down to the last two cars, they were #11x Colton Neuhalfen and #83 Matt Ertman. A little history on Matt, last year, Matt’s car started a fire and instantly his car was up in flames. He had to be taken to Iowa City. He had to stay out of the sun for the majority of the year, but yet, one year later, here he was in the Demolition Derby again. A lot of people would have loved to seen him win, but he came in second, with Neuhalfen coming in first. This didn’t upset Matt at all, he jumped from his car, yelling, whooping it up and running to hug Colton.
