In an informal Facebook poll launched Thursday afternoon on NorthIowaToday.com’s Facebook page, Olive Garden is the new eatery of choice for Mason City.
Rumors of a Jimmy John’s sandwich shop prompted the poll, which asked “If Mason City were to get a new restaurant, which would you choose?”
Voters can “write-in” their own choices, as well.
As of Friday afternoon, 435 votes were cast. Olive Garden, a semi-fancy Italian pasta restaurant, got 177 votes.
Outback Steakhouse was second with 71 votes, and Panera Bread had 29 votes.
There were lots of other options added by voters that got one vote, such as “A 3rd McDonald’s,” “Dunkin’ Donuts,” and “Cracker Barrel.”
Jimmy John’s got one vote.|
