Charles City (IA), June 13, 2011ó Next Tuesday and Wednesday, Mitas Tires will hold Career Days in Charles City to meet with job seekers and discuss employment opportunities at Mitas’ Charles City factory for agricultural tires. Mitas is hiring 10 foremen and core employees, who will be sent to the Czech Republic for training. The rest of the work force of the initial 159 employees will be recruited late in 2011.
“Mitas is fulfilling the promise made to Iowans in summer 2010,” Mitas Human Resources Manager Ralph Kellenberger said. “We seek full-time employees to start our production of radial farm tires in Charles City. We are well aware that what makes our tires reliable is a dedicated work force.”
The Mitas Tires Career Days will take place on June 21 (9 a.m. ñ 6 p.m.) and June 22 (10 a.m. ñ 8 p.m.) at NIACC Charles City Center, 200 Harwood Drive. Mitas seeks foremen and workers for making tire components, tire building and tire curing, and for machine and building maintenance. “Agricultural tire making requires great skill,” Kellenberger said.
Mitas will provide training to all successful candidates. No prior experience in tire making is required. Mitas Tires is building an agricultural tire factory in Charles City, IA.
