Around 8:55 Friday morning, a fire was reported at the West McDonald’s on 4th Street. Everyone was told to evacuate. The fire was started in the deep fat fryThe Mason City Fire Department went in and put it out.
The restaurant was closed until about 1:15 PM.
An employee told NorthIowaToday.com that fire was “pretty bad” and that no fries would be served until about 2:30 PM.
