Mason City baseball player Brandon Platts was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the thirteenth round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft this week.
Platts is a senior at Mason City High School and was drafted as a right-handed pitched.
Awards Platts has won include: 2010 1st Team All-District 4A, 2010 1st Team All Conference 4A, 2010 1st Team All State 4A, 2010 2nd Team Coaches Association.|
