Overriding Nelson, Marsters and Weaver (by Peter J. children)

In the Sunday edition of the Globe-Gazette John Skipper writes about a proposed shift in city departments. The proposed shifts are exactly what I recently wrote about on this site maybe 10 days ago. (Click here to read that story.) It goes to show there are no secrets in a small town.

Now its up to the council to either approve or disapprove the changes. If I were casting my vote it would be a no vote. This maneuver is as transparent as a freshly washed bay window. The mayor is solidifying his positions and strengthening his base. The only creditable change should be removing Human Resources from the city attorney. And as some of you have commented, there is no need for an assistant city administrator….no matter what Trout may say.

All of this leads to one end, overriding Nelson, Marsters and Weaver. There is no other purpose. He has to take care of Tom Meyer because Tom Meyer will make any ruling favorable to the mayor’s wants and needs.
