Motofest is put on annually by a local group of motorcycle enthusiasts that call themselves North Iowa M.A.G. (Motorcycle Awareness Group). North Iowa M.A.G. is a not-for-profit group that puts on charitable events such as this one. This year’s event was for breast cancer research and awareness. Last year’s event was for the Winnebago Honor flight.

The events included three motorcycle stunt shows, skill competitions, a fun run, Q&A tech sessions, a judged bike show and a Little Miss Motofest Pageant for girls age 12 and under. There was also a vintage and show scooters and motorcycles on display.

Bands played throughout the day, such as Stream of Consciousness, Broken Oath and Paul Weitzel; plus there was a DJ. There were vendors that sold food, jewelry and leather goods.

Another part of the event people really enjoyed was the pounding of a van. For a donation you could take a bat and beat a van. There were drawings and door prizes.

“To be a member you don’t need to own or even ride a motorcycle, you just have to show interest in them.” said Jesse Bell, a member of M.A.G.

Stunts were performed by ZX Chris stunt crew. One stunt rider had a personal reason for participating in this event. This mother was diagnosed with cancer and needed money for hospital bills. While he did his stunts, a bucket was passed around to help with this. After one of his sessions, he got on the microphone and thanked everyone for helping out.

Metric Customs had a few bikes on display including a dual engine chopper and a drag bike that could pull 160MPH on a 1/8 mile track; that takes less than 4 seconds. They have also pushed the bike close to 200 MPH on a 1/4 mile track.
