MASON CITY – Two U.S. Army soldiers and several other patriotic Americans handed out flags to motorists and pedestrians on downtown Mason City the day after news spread of Osama Bin Laden’s death.
“We’re happy to be here on this historic day,” one of the soldiers said.
It was cold and blustery but their patriotic fever ran high, as several motorists and a few pedestrians stopped every few minutes to grab a flag, while others gave an enthusiastic honk to show their support.
