Cops chase and apprehend drunk driver on Mason City’s north side

A 26 year-old subject was arrested Friday afternoon at 2:16 PM. Mason City police and Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s deputies were on the scene.

NorthIowaToday.com was told “A witness was out raking their lawn when the chase ended on the 1200 block of North President. He said that the Deputy got out of the car and he was mad. Another police officer came from the North to assist. They got the driver, but didn’t seem too interested in the passenger. They ended up handcuffing the passenger too, but let him go. He walked right by me, and he was a rough looking sort. They thoroughly searched the jeep. Witness don’t know if they found anything.”

From the sheriff’s media report:
Arrested subject for Operation While Intoxicated(Drug Related), Driving While Revoked (Drug Related), No SR Insurance and Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia. Verbal warning for no front license plate and no safety belt.
