Walk A Mile In Her Shoes event held in Mason City

MASON CITY – The third annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event was held at Central Park in Mason City Wednesday. The event is held every April, to raise awareness for domestic and sexual abuse. Guest Speaker Josh Jasper, Dubuque, IA was invited to kick off the third annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, at Central Park in Mason City, Wednesday.

The event is held every April, to raise awareness for domestic and sexual abuse. Community Leaders and citizens alike came to show their support on a cold, windy Wednesday.

Firefighter Scott Kreitzer said the fire department doesn’t get involved with as many events as they could. Not only is this a cause he believes in but he also said its a great way for the fire department to start getting more involved. Scott was walking for a friend of his who was a victim. Many People wonder where the large womens shoes come from. They come from shoe stores that sell shoes for Drag Queens.
