According to a memo from City Administrator Brent Trout, employees with POET Biorefining have volunteered to complete the 13th Street NE Railroad Trestle Painting Project. The trestle is located west of the Mason City water treatment plant.
POET Biorefining is located in Hanlontown.
The project will begin Saturday, May 14 at 6 AM and is should be complete by 1 PM. An alternate date of May 21 is planned if there is rain on May 14.
Detours will be located in the area to provide for the safety of the volunteers. Commuters will be cautioned to drive carefully when traveling in the area or to try to plan an alternate route.
Passing through the underpass below the trestle, graffiti, rust and other imperfections are clearly noticeable all over the structure.
Trout’s memo says a similar project was completed in May of 2003 on the trestle on State Street near East Park. |
