Witnesses tell NorthIowaToday.com that today at 6:00 pm it was reported that a semi had done some damage to K&R Car and Truck Wash on 12th St NE. The truck was actually two inches shorter than the height allowed. It hit the pipes that were coming from the ceiling. The driver said that the owner was called, but refused to come and measure the distance and prove that the truck did not exceed height allowed. He told the employee to call the police and call it into the insurance. The driver said that if it were his fault, “I’d gladly take the blame”, but he felt like it wasn’t. He believed that there was already damage done to the pipes, making it hang down lower than it was supposed to be. Turning this into his companies insurance would cost him his job; and he had a wife and kids. The owner was not around for comment.
