The Vision Iowa Board will be meeting Wednesday morning in Des Moines to discuss Mason City’s streetscape project contract amendment.
In a letter to the Vision Iowa Board in Des Moines, Mason City has requested a time extension to complete its downtown streetscape project. The streetscape project has encountered numerous snags and delays as workers dug up North Federal Avenue in Mason City. The project was supposed to be completed by June 30, 2011.
Vision Iowa in the past has pulled funding for projects that did not get done on time.
Mason City’s leaders have varied in the concern on the issue, with some saying they are not concerned, to Max Weaver telling NorthIowaToday.com “I’m very concerned.”
Several other cities are also on the agenda asking for amendments to their Vision Iowa contracts as well.
