The 18th annual community-wide litter clean up event begins this week. To take advantage of the nice weather, teams may be traveling in their designated locations prior to the clean-up effort scheduled to officially start at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, April 16. Drivers are asked to watch carefully for the clean-up participants to ensure the safety of these volunteers. The teams will be carrying large orange litter bags.
Each year volunteers donate time to the litter clean-up project in conjunction with National Earth Day. An Earth Day Festival/Post Clean-Up Rally will be held in East Park near the Prairie Playground location from 10 to Noon. Everyone is welcome to attend. Participating clean-up teams will be eligible for a variety of prizes made possible by donations from individuals and local businesses.
