The history-based discussion group will talk about “Making the Most of Your Visit: Pre-Visit Planning for the State Historical Library” at 1:30 p.m. April 16, 2011, at the State Historical Library & Archives Reading Room in the State Historical Building, 600 E. Locust Street in Des Moines. The event is free and open to the public. Contact Susan Jellinger at susan.jellinger@iowa.gov or 515-281-6897 for more information.
“Conducting a history-based research project can be a daunting task, even for seasoned veterans,” said Susan Jellinger of the State Historical Library. “This program will help researchers learn where they should go first and what’s available in our Reading Room. Participants will also learn how to use our on-line indexes and catalogs before they visit our libraries in Des Moines and Iowa City.”
