Carl Grover has resigned form the Mason City Parks Board.
Mayor Eric Bookmeyer announced the resignation to Council members in an email. “I have regretfully accepted Carl Grover’s resignation from the Park Board.” He then noted the city code that stipulates how he can fill the position.
“I am honored to nominate Craig Binnebose to replace Mr. Grover for the unexpired term. His track record of service and interest in this board has earned this nomination.
He will be placed on the next agenda for council approval.”
Asked by Council member Jeff Marsters how he chose Binnebose, Bookmeyer said “He earned the next number of votes in the last Park Board election, with 2,144. He is a dedicated volunteer who provides extensive service to the community in this area and I believe he has earned the right to fulfill the unexpired term. The next park board election will be this November.”|
