DCI INVESTIGATING DEATH IN CERRO GORDO COUNTY
Cerro Gordo County, IOWA — On Sunday, February 6, 2011 the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office received a call that there was a pick-up parked along a gravel road facing the wrong direction. A deputy responded to the area, south of Clear Lake on Dogwood Avenue.
The deputy located the pick-up and discovered a deceased male inside. The body was transported to Mercy Hospital North Iowa, where an autopsy was conducted by the Cerro Gordo County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Cerro Gordo County Medical Examiner’s Office preliminarily identified the victim as 42 year old Jeffrey David Bolstad of Clarion, Iowa. Bolstad died as the result of a gunshot wound to the head. No foul play is suspected.
The investigation into Bolstad’s death is continuing by the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, Cerro Gordo County Medical Examiner’s Office, Department of Natural Resources, and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
