The Mason City police department would like to warn citizens about the latest scam to hit the area. Citizens have reported receiving phone calls from somone claiming to be with advance loans or also known as payday loans in which they will be told that they are late on their payment, and they need to make a payment now or they will come and arrest the person. Do not give out your credit card info or your bank information. This is a scam and they are usually trying to get you to pay back several times the amount borrwoed.|
