Credit card fraud arrest made

Mason City police executed a search warrant at 1730 N. Pennsylvania Avenue last Friday afternoon, looking for stolen property. Tasha Renea McReynolds was arrested and charged with 2 counts of credit card fraud.|On Monday, January 17th 2011, investigators of the Mason City Police Department charged Tasha Renea McReynolds, 23, of Mason City with to counts of credit card fraud.

In late December, the Mason City Police Department received a report of unauthorized charges on the victim’s Visa credit card, totaling $5824.29. During the investigation of the incidents, it was discovered that McReynolds used the credit card at several businesses. A search warrant was executed on January 14, 2011 on McReynolds’ residence at 1730 N. Pennsylvania Avenue in Mason City. Most of the items purchased with the credit card were recovered from the residence.

McReynolds was charged with two counts of credit card fraud, a class D felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison and a $7500 fine.
