Man arrested after fleeing

On January 11th, shortly after 5:00p.m., a Mason City Police Officer stopped a car in the 200 block South Pennsylvania. During the traffic stop a passenger from the vehicle fled from the vehicle on foot. After a short foot pursuit the passenger, identified as Willie York, age 31, no permanent address was arrested for Interference with Official Acts a simple misdemeanor and two outstanding warrants for his arrest; Escape from Custody and D Felony and Department of Corrections warrant for Flight to Avoid Reference Terrorism. York was transported to the Cerro Gordo County Jail to be held on the above. The driver, Michael Holton, age 23 of Mason City was arrested at the scene for driving while suspended and failure to show proof of insurance, both a simple misdemeanor.
