A three car accident on I-35 was at least partially blamed on blizzard-like conditions.
A car driven by Scott Hansen, 36, of Des Moines, came to a stop in the southbound lane of I-35 on Friday, January 7 at 3:30 PM due to other vehicles in front of him that had stopped. The police report stats that visibility was down to only a few feet due to blowing and falling snow, and a blizzard warning had been posted for North Iowa at the time.
A second vehicle driven by Messa Andrew, 52, of Duluth, MN then came upon Hansen’s vehicle and was not able to stop due to the poor visibility. Messa’s 2004 Volkswagon Jetta then struck Hansen’s 2007 Honda Accord.
A third vehicle, driven by Jeromy Keehn, 30, of Latimer, then struck the rear left side of Andrew’s vehicle.
No one was injured in the accident.
