Shoppers brave cold temps, winds on Black Friday

Again this year people turned out in droves to take advantage of Black Friday deals in Mason City.|Southbridge Mall in Mason City was teaming with shoppers again this year on Black Friday.

Lots of venders were set up in the walkways offering something for everyone. “We’re about as busy as last year,” said a man selling hats, wallets and purses.
Foot traffic seemed robust and the parking lot was nearly full this afternoon. Even the south parking lot was half full.

Shoppers turned out late Thursday night to get in line for Black Friday specials at Wal-Mart and other stores in the Indianhead shopping district on Mason City’s west side. “Shopped all night. Now I feel like absolute crap. Headache, stuffy nose, nausea, & a full body ache,” said one young bargain hunter who went to Wal-Mart and Southbridge.
