Pearl Harbor Presentation at Clear Lake VFW on December 7: In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, Bennett Smith, faculty of the North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) Lifelong Learning Institute will hold a free presentation on Wednesday, December 7 from 3:00 -5:00 pm at the Clear Lake VFW Post 4868 at 219 Main Avenue.

FISHING REPORT:
Blue Pit
Trout are being caught on a variety of baits. You may have to fish several areas to find them. You need a fishing license and trout stamp to fish for and/or possess trout.
Clear Lake
Water temperature is in the upper 30's. With the high winds and colder temperatures, no fishing activity was reported this week.
All area lakes are ice free. Some of the smaller ponds and wetlands have formed skim ice.

The City of Mason City will be hosting an informal public information meeting to highlight and provide information on the creation of a Quiet Zone along the Union Pacific Railroad. The Railroad Quiet Zone will extend from 15th Street SW to 9th Street NW a distance of approximately 1.5 miles.
The meeting will be held on Thursday, December 1st from 5 to 7 p.m. in Conference Room A on the 2nd floor of City Hall. There will be no formal presentation, so visitors may stop by anytime during that time period. City staff will be present to discuss the project and to answer questions.

A workshop entitled “Picture Frame Creations” will be held at the Lime Creek Nature Center on Monday, December 12 at 6:00 p.m.
Participants will turn trash into treasure, repurposing picture frames into dry erase boards.
This fun workshop is a great way to meet new people, get creative and upcycle a picture frame craft to take home!
This program is sponsored by the Mason City Earth Day Committee and Lime Creek Nature Center. All materials will be provided. There is no cost, but registration is required - call (641) 423-5309.
