Bring a bag with you and pick up any litter you see along the way, and then meet us at Georgia-Hanford Park to drop off your trash and enjoy FREE food, crafts and activities! This is a great way to get outside, enjoy our parks & playgrounds and help keep them beautiful!

The Cerro Gordo County Conservation Board and Lime Creek Nature Center Foundation are sponsoring their annual Halloween Hike on Wednesday, October 26 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Lime Creek Nature Center.
Groups of hikers will be led through the trails of Lime Creek on a 40-minute hike, encountering various creatures along the way. The hike will not be scary, but will be a fun and educational experience for the whole family. Refreshments will be served following the hike. Children ten years old and under are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes and are welcome to participate in a costume contest that will be held in conjunction with the hike.
Reservations are required and the fee is $3.00 per person for all ages. Members of the Lime Creek Nature Center can make reservations starting Monday, October 10, at 8 a.m. Non-member registrations will be taken starting Tuesday, October 11, at 8 a.m. Call 423-5309 to make reservations or for more information.

FISHING REPORT:
Blue Pit (BIG BLUE)
Channel Catfish - Good: An occasional catfish has been caught on cut bait on the jetty. Blue Sucker – Good.

Clear Lake
Yellow Bass - Excellent: Farmer’s beach (just outside the weed edge), MacIntosh swim beach and the Ventura jetties have been producing well. Hy-Vee and other rock reefs continue to produce. Try also the channel between the little lake and big lake has. Action has picked up this week with anglers reporting fish on every cast, at times. Walleye - Good: Walleye action is starting to pick up in certain areas. Use jigs and a minnow or cut bait in many of the same areas that yellow bass are biting. Channel Catfish - Good: Catfish are biting near the grade on cut bait and minnows. Try the last couple hours of the day or early morning. Black Crappie - Fair: Try near the Hy-Vee reef or in tight to docks in early morning. Muskellunge - Good: Musky fishing has been decent; September is usually a good month for musky fishing. Yellow Perch - Good: Yellow perch are hitting by the grade on 1/16 ounce black leadheads with a piece of cut bait.

Largemouth Bass - Good: Largemouth are starting to go on the feed with cooler water.
