MASON CITY – On 02/04/11 at approximately 12:12 AM an officer of the Mason City Police Department attempted to stop a beige 1987 Honda Accord for a traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and officers continued to pursue the vehicle north out of Mason City. After a lengthy pursuit, officers were able to finally get the vehicle stopped near the intersection of 320th St. and Olive Ave. The driver of the vehicle, Michael Bush, 32, of Mason City was arrested in the incident. Bush had a warrant for his arrest out of Worth County for Probation Violation reference Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver. In addition, Bush was charged with Eluding a Law Enforcement Vehicle and several other traffic violations related to the pursuit. Bush is being held at the Cerro Gordo County Jail on a $12,000 bond.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa State Patrol assisted the Mason City Police Department with the vehicle pursuit.
