MASON CITY – An arraignment date was set on Friday by Judge Greg Rosenbladt for three men that were arrested and booked after an alleged “sex offense” incident at the Mason City YMCA in July.
Douglas Howard Petersen, 67; Dennis Clarence Vrba, 68; and David Vaughn Escher, 55 will go before a judge for arraignment on September 24th at 8:30 AM.
An arraignment is the opportunity for the defendant and his attorney to plead guilty or not guilty to the charges listed in the trial information.
All three men were arrested on August 1, 2012 and charged with indecent exposure, a serious misdemeanor.
The Mason City YMCA has stayed virtually silent on the incident despite a statement from YMCA Director Liz Conley that a statement would be released by August 8th.
“We will be communicating with our members in the next few days. We will also release a statement to all media,” Conley said.
No further communications from the YMCA regarding the matter were made since then.
