NIACC men’s 4×100 relay team sets school record

DES MOINES – For the second time this season, the NIACC men’s 4×100-meter relay school record has been broken.

NIACC’s Timothi McMaster, Prince Boduo, Kalen Eastman and Deionte Ganzy clocked an all-time NIACC best of 42.36 Friday at the Jim Duncan Invitational on the Drake University campus and placed second in the University/College Division. Drake won the race in 41.07.

On March 28, the same foursome set the school record with a 42.75 at the Loras College Mid-Week meet.

Before the 2018 season, the old school 4×100 mark of 43.17 was held by Will Hanson, Deon Polk, Jacques Edwards and Paul Pokana in 2014.

Ganzy also placed fifth in the 200 (22.09) and was sixth in the 100 (10.90).

In the high jump, Alec Hayes was fifth with a leap of 6 feet, 2 inches and teammate Jacob Jenjum was seventh (6-0).

Brian Jacques was seventh in the 5,000 (15:29.66) and Blake Keller was 11th (15:48.57).

Also for the NIACC men, the foursome of Kyle Younker, David Carter, Ethan Klasi and Boduo was fourth in the 4×400-meter relay in a time of 3:27.25.

In the 100, McMaster was 16th (11.39) and Eastman was 20th (11.51).

In the 400, Boduo was ninth (51.06), Jevonte Ganzy was 15th (52.12), Younker was 16th (52.13) and Klasi was 19th (52.70).

In the 5,000, Samuel Dean was 14th (17:30.57).

In the 800, Carter was 12th (2:00.52) and Daniel Hennigar was 18th (2:02.07).

In the 3,000 steeplechase, Grant Dieken was 10th (10:44.12).

For the NIACC women on Friday, the Lady Trojans’ 4×100 team of Dashwan Wyatt, Erin Schwarzkopf, Elizabeth Mennen and Jaylynn Scrivner placed third in a time of 50.40.

Wyatt was eighth in the 100 in a time of 13.05 and 10th in the 200 (27.71).

Also in the 200, Schwarzkopf was ninth (27.66), Mennen was 11th (27.75) and Anne Marie Morris was 17th (28.43).

In the 400 hurdles, Scrivner was eighth (1:09.01).
