Gov. Reynolds signs 17 bills into law

DES MOINES – Gov. Kim Reynolds signed the following 17 bills into law on Tuesday:

House File 2233: an Act relating to mechanics’ liens, public construction liens, and the early release of retained funds. This bill passed the Iowa Senate on March 27, 26-21 and the Iowa House on April 3, 69-29.

House File 2297: an Act relating to boiler and unfired steam pressure vessel inspections. This bill passed the Iowa Senate on March 27, 26-21 and the Iowa House on April 2, 58-40.

House File 2349: an Act relating to persons voluntarily excluded from gambling facilities. This bill passed the Iowa House on March 5, 96-0 and the Iowa Senate on April 2, 47-0.

House File 2379: an Act relating to municipal utility retirement systems. This bill passed the Iowa House on Feb. 22, 94-0 and the Iowa Senate on April 2, 47-0.

House File 2381: an Act relating to the disposition of a child found to have committed a delinquent act. This bill passed the Iowa House on Feb. 26, 98-0 and the Iowa Senate on April 5, 46-0.

House File 2392: an Act relating to electronic and mechanical eavesdropping, and the interception of communications. This bill passed the Iowa Senate on March 20, 48-1 and the Iowa House on April 2, 60-38.

House File 2404: an Act relating to restitution paid to the estate or heirs at law of a crime victim. This bill passed the Iowa House on March 12, 98-0 and the Iowa Senate on April 3, 48-0.

House File 2427: an Act relating to access to certain child abuse and dependent adult abuse information by free clinics, and including effective date provisions. This bill passed the Iowa House on March 8, 98-0 and the Iowa Senate on April 3, 48-0.

House File 2464: an Act relating to the level of fees imposed pursuant to the land recycling program. This bill passed the Iowa House on March 20, 98-0 and the Iowa Senate on April 2, 47-0.

Senate File 481: an Act relating to the enforcement of immigration laws and providing penalties and remedies, including the denial of state funds to certain entities. This bill passed the Iowa House on April 3, 55-45 and the Iowa Senate on April 4, 28-18.

Senate File 2169: an Act limiting the liability of an alcoholic beverage licensee or permittee for certain alcohol-related injuries. This bill passed the Iowa House on April 2, 61-36 and the Iowa Senate on April 4, 32-17.

Senate File 2177: an Act relating to consumer protection modifying provisions applicable to consumer security freezes and personal information security breach protection, and including effective date provisions. This bill passed the Iowa Senate on March 20, 49-0 and the Iowa House on March 28, 100-0.

Senate File 2203: an Act authorizing the Board of Nursing to issue a limited nursing authorization to a nurse to complete the clinical component of a nurse refresher course. This bill passed the Iowa Senate on March 7, 49-0 and the Iowa House on March 26, 99-0.

Senate File 2226: an Act relating to formatting requirements for groundwater hazard statements recorded with a county recording office. This bill passed the Iowa Senate on March 6, 50-0 and the Iowa House on March 26, 99-0.

Senate File 2229: an Act relating to obtaining a mechanic’s lien when a person takes collateral security on a contract for furnishing material or performing labor. This bill passed the Iowa Senate on Feb. 21, 48-1 and the Iowa House on March 27, 99-0.

Senate File 2293: an Act relating to motor vehicles, including provisions concerning record retention at established places of business of motor vehicle dealers, electronic titling and registration of motor vehicles, and warranties and recalls of motor vehicle franchises. This bill passed the Iowa Senate on March 6, 50-0 and the Iowa House on March 22, 94-0.

Senate File 2347: an Act providing for the personal importation of alcoholic liquor, wine, and beer, concerning criminal penalties for bootlegging, and including effective date and applicability provisions. This bill passed the Iowa House on March 22, 86-8 and the Iowa Senate on March 27, 47-1.
