OBIT: Todd Idler, 43, of Ionia

Todd Idler, 43, of Ionia, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side.

A funeral service for Todd Idler will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Hauser Funeral Home. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

Visitation will be at Hauser Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2018 and will continue one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

Todd Loyal Idler was born January 2, 1975 in New Hampton, Iowa the son of Lynn and Sandra (Miller) Idler. He graduated from Charles City High School in 1993 where he began his love of being a machinist and his attitude of perfection. Todd enjoyed being in the shop with his father on the weekends and loved all types of racing including late model racing and NHRA Drag racing.

Todd’s passion for car racing led him to start a business selling car parts called Late Model Supply. He then turned to building race cars for his dad and helping other racers. Todd started machining for his career working at MTE, T&C Machine and most recently at Accurate Gear and Machine in Waterloo for 10 years before becoming ill. He was precise in anything he worked on including his machined parts, welding, and building race cars just to name a few.

Family was very important to Todd and he will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.

Living family members include his mother, Sandra Idler of Ionia; brother, Ryan Idler of Ionia; Uncles and Aunts: Dennis (Joy) George of Springfield, Tennessee and Lee (Peggy) Wilhelms of Shell Rock; cousins: Bonnie Lore, Jeromy, Michelle, Will, MacKinzie and Lane Winter all of Ionia, Kim George and Seth Wallace of White House, Tennessee; along with numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lynn in 2015; grandparents: Kenneth (Darlene) Idler and Carlyle (Audrey) Miller; and Great-Aunt, Mildred Bigelow.
