MASON CITY – A Mason City man is awaiting a court appearance after an allegedly violent incident with another person.
Mason City police took a sex assault report on the afternoon of March 4 at an apartment on North Monroe Avenue. Allegedly, an attempted sexual assault took place between 59-year-old Marlin Kenneth Nagel and a female victim. As a result, police located and arrested Nagel on a charge of felony assault with intent to commit sexual abuse and possession of a controlled substance (cannabidiol), third or subsequent offense.
Nagel was jailed and soon released. He now awaits a court date set for March 23.
Nagel was arrested after a drinking fest at a Mason City park back in 2013.
