Lt. Gov. Gregg attends White House Conference on Rural Prosperity

DES MOINES – Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg, along with Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey and Iowa Department of Natural Resources Director Chuck Gipp, attended the White House Conference on Rural Prosperity on Tuesday in Washington, D.C. They were joined by Vice President Mike Pence, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke and numerous other administration officials.

“I was honored to be invited to join this important conversation on rural prosperity,” Lt. Gov. Gregg said. “From trade, to regulations, to labor issues, to broadband—our conversation touched on numerous issues that are important to life in rural America.”

In her Condition of the State address earlier this month, Gov. Kim Reynolds tasked Lt. Gov. Gregg with a new initiative that focuses on rural Iowa. The initiative’s goal is to encourage investment, growth and connectivity in rural Iowa while growing the next generation of community leaders.

“As leader of Gov. Reynolds’ new initiative focusing on rural Iowa, I am committed to promoting investment and connecting our rural communities by expanding broadband capabilities across the state,” Lt. Gov. Gregg continued. “Gov. Reynolds and I look forward to working with the Trump administration to prioritize investment in rural Iowa.”
