Deceased person found in burned out car on rural Iowa dirt road

BLOOMFIELD, IOWA – A deceased person was found inside a burned out car on a rural Iowa dirt road.

On Saturday, January 27, 2018, the Davis County Law Enforcement center received a 911 call around 10:30am in reference to a burned out car in rural Davis County. A local farmer had discovered the vehicle. Deputies arrived in the area of 27772 Vetch Avenue, Pulaski, Iowa, and discovered a burned out vehicle. The vehicle was located in a farm lane off a dirt road. Upon inspecting the vehicle, law enforcement discovered human remains inside the vehicle.

The human remains were transported to the Office of the State Medical Examiner in Ankeny, Iowa for an autopsy. The autopsy will be conducted this week and results from the autopsy will be released at a later date.

The case is currently under investigation by the Davis County Sheriff’s office, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, State Fire Marshall’s office, Iowa Department of Transportation and the Davis County Attorney and the Office of State Medical Examiner. Nothing further will be released at this time as the case is ongoing.

The public is being asked for help in the investigation.

Any updates? Was she murdered? Do not let this story disappear. We don’t need another unexplained death like the woman just off of Hwy 20 in Hardin County. She was found in back of empty farm place just off the Hwy 20 exit, north of Eldora.
