Sharon Lane, 79, of Charles City, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City, Iowa surrounded by her loving family.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Hauser Funeral Home with Pastor Wendy Johannesen of West St. Charles Church and Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will take place at Sunnyside Memory Gardens in rural Charles City.
A visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Hauser Funeral Home and continue one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Sharon Mary (Teepe) Lane, the daughter of Edward and Pearl (Schoonmaker) Teepe, was born April 24, 1938 in Randalia, Iowa. She graduated from Elma High School in 1956. Sharon married Delton Lane on June 12, 1960 in Orchard, Iowa. Sharon was a daycare provider, worked for Comp Systems, and had various housekeeping jobs.
Sharon loved to cook, do crosswords and puzzles, and enjoyed watching the birds at the bird feeder. She liked watching country music award shows and programs. She was a member of the Orchard Church.
Living family members include her children: Julie (Brent) Parker, Mike (Joanne) Lane, and Chris (Emily) Lane; grandchildren: Trent (Brittany) Parker, Renae Parker, Debra Lane, Hannah Lane, Tanner Lane, Mason Lane, and Koryn Lane; great-grandchildren: Genevieve and Summer Parker; sisters: Joyce Meyerhoff, Elinor Eggers, Janice Kobliska, and Phyllis Fausnaugh.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delton Dale Lane on January 13, 2018; son, Jefferey Allan Lane; one child in infancy; sister, Mable Carmody; brothers: Raymond Teepe and David Teepe; sisters-in-law: Inka Teepe and Shirley Teepe; brothers-in-law: Roger Carmody, Eddie Meyerhoff, Irvin Eggers, Paul Kobliska, and Richard “Dick” Fausnaugh.
