Clear Lake man hurt in early morning crash

CLEAR LAKE – A Clear Lake man was hurt Friday morning after he crashed a vehicle he might have taken without owner’s consent.

On January 19, 2018 at 2:35 AM, Cent Gordo County Deputies responded to a single vehicle collision in the 4000 Block of South Shore Drive outside of Clear Lake. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the driver, 28-year-old Rusty Shane Rogers of Clear Lake. Rogers was driving a blue 2002 Chrysler Sebring which left the roadway and made contact with several trees.

The vehicle is believed to have been taken without the owner’s consent.

Rogers was transported to Mercy Medical Center North Iowa with apparent non-life threatening injuries.

Charges are pending investigation.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriffs Department was assisted by the Ventura Fire, Clear Lake Fire, Clear Lake Fire Medics, and Lake Towing.
