CLEAR LAKE – A Clear Lake woman with a history of drunk driving was allegedly at it again this weekend, striking as many as four cars and causing tens-of-thousands of dollars in damage before police could get her to stop.
On January 12, 2018, at 6:44 pm, the Clear Lake Police and Fire Departments responded to a vehicle collision in the 800 block of Main Avenue.
Arriving officers determined that a 2009 Chevrolet Traverse, driven by 38-year-old Michaela Dohlman of Clear Lake, was traveling south on N. 8th Street. When she turned left, to head east on Main Avenue, she struck two vehicles, parked on the south side of Main Ave. Dohlman continued east on Main Ave. and struck two more vehicles parked along the north side of the street before coming to a stop.
A total of five vehicles (including Dohlman’s) were involved in the incident. Total estimated damage is around $24,500.00. Dohlman initially complained of neck pain, but refused medical treatment. She was the only occupant of all involved vehicles.
While investigating the crash, officers believed Dohlman was under the influence of alcohol. She was transported to the Clear Lake Police Department for further testing and later arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) 2nd Offense and two counts of failure to maintain control of a vehicle.
Dohlman was convicted of drunk driving back in 2015, 2002 and 2000 – all in Cerro Gordo county.
