NIACC wrestlers stop RCTC, 36-12

ROCHESTER, Minn. – The No. 13 NIACC wrestling team picked up its first dual meet win of the season with a 36-12 win over No. 11 RCTC on Wednesday.
NIACC (1-4 in duals) won seven of the eight contested matches.

At 157 pounds, NIACC’s fifth-ranked Noah Jackson (9-4) pinned third-ranked Alfred Daniel in the third period.

At 197 pounds, NIACC’s Sedrak Sheppard (6-7) took a 4-2 decision from RCTC’s third-ranked Mason Hawkins.

The Trojans also picked up wins from Robert Rodriguez, Ryan Faught, Isaiah Martinez, Chris Briscoe and Jimsher Sidhu.

Notes: Sidhu improved his career record to 20-10 … Faught has a career record of 19-21 … Sheppard has a career record of 16-19.
NIACC returns to action Jan. 17 at No. 3 Ellsworth.
