MASON CITY – Police in Mason City investigated a shooting Saturday.
According to details gathered by NIT, the shooting took place Saturday evening at or near the 200 block of 12th Street SE. Police were seen at and inside 224 12th Street SE. A victim was shot, possibly in the shoulder, but was able to give police some details about the alleged shooter. A suspect fled in a car registered from out of the immediate area.
Local law enforcement sectioned off an area of 12th Street and remained there investigating in the later evening hours. There was yellow caution tape strung across the street.
There was no more immediate word on the condition of the victim.
Have they released the race and hometown of the suspects yet?
